[1337-023] 0x7f – As The World Burns We Watch TV.. EP

The year starts off with a new release straight from the 31337 management! Label head Stefan Klaas aka 0x7f presents his EP ‘As The World Burns We Watch TV’, a classy selection of tracks filled with ambience and mixed with a bit of tech-house and dub. 0x7f doesn’t follow any standards or trends and has a distinct feel for deep melodic tunes with lots of clicks and field recordings wrapped into complex minimalistic sound structures.

While the title shows a critical view on parts of todays society, the EP doesn’t reflect negative thoughts and simply invites the listener to let the mind wander and thoughts flow. Along the 3 original tracks there are 3 fabulous remixes by Akiko Kiyama, Ditch and Sil from the Easy Changes duo. Akiko delivers a wonderfully unique remix of

‘Surface’ that brings in some fresh elements and turns the track around into a new and interestingly mysterious direction. A well structured flow with lots of true minimalism, carefully chosen patterns and straight to the point. Ditch presents a very creative, dark interpretation of ‘Virtualized’, filled with samples that leave some kind of industrial impression. A pounding beat that slowly comes out of the shadows, surrounded by a field of percussions and well selected cuts. Sil pushed the boundaries and made a remix aimed at the dancefloor. Well arranged and cut up percussions emerging between twisted samples and melodic bits and pieces that turn the original track upside down and inside out. Of course with the typical Easy Changes style.

[1337-010] 0x7f – Worship The Machines LP

We are back with a new release from the 31337 management! Our 10th release and also our very first full album, this time from label manager Stefan aka ’0x7f”! The release includes 6 original tracks starting with ‘Black Market’, which is a nice club track with lots of percussions and interesting samples. The next track ‘It Goes On And On’ is a bit slower and accompanied with a beautifully crushed melody that keeps clubbers floating when the sun goes up.

Coming to ‘Worship The Machines’, which is the title track of this album. A long journey into the world of bits and bytes. Funky vocal cuts meet field recordings with a taste of clicks and various effects. A perfekt mix to get your ass shaking! The track ‘So What’ is very deep and has a dubby touch. Monotonic melody meets reverb.

Now the track ‘Genki Des’ is very spheric with some interesting and crackling textures. Just lay down and enjoy. The last track ‘Polar Bear’ is a perfekt outro track. It has a beautiful melancholic melodie surounded by clicks and delays. Really something to enjoy anytime.

[1337-008] Topper – Contrary Smile EP

After a little summer break 31337records is back with a smashing minimal techno release from Topper including remixes made by Sebastian Koch and 0x7f. ‘Topper grew up in turin surrounded by substances and tunes typical of a hippie-kind of environment. Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd were his milk. His dad, the ‘hippie’, had a huge influence on him, and introduced his curious kid into the magic of music and psychedelic culture.

That’s the reason why he felt like he was born for music! Rapidly he got in touch with more ‘minimal’ sounds and started djing. The big shift occurred during the summer of 2005: Right after taking his High-school diploma he moved to Berlin. It took some months to get into the scene, but by the end of 2005 he joined the ‘Klangsucht’ crew, playing at numerous underground parties, open-airs, afterhours and so on…’

After a very long delay, 31337 is happy to finally present you ‘Contrary Smile’! The EP starts of with two straight club tracks, the first being ‘Nilla Pizzis Suicide’ which is a dark themed techno track with a touch of glitch. The second track ‘Lucio Dallas Cowboys’ got a lot of drive and ends in psychedelic pads and textures. Then we have 2 awesome remixes of ‘Nilla Pizzis Suicide’ by the label management 0x7f and Sebastian Koch.

[1337-001] Various Artists – We Are 31337!

Munich / Berlin, Germany, May 23, 2007: The young netlabel 31337records is releasing its first Various Artists compilation today featuring great artists such as ‘Someone Else’, ‘Katzo’, ‘Den’, ’0x7f’, ‘Sebastian Koch’ and many more. The compilation is split into two parts of which the first one is more club oriented – pounding and very subtle minimal techno – while the second part is perfect chill-out material. This collection of tunes is not your average netlabel release but a promising start for a young, fresh and exciting label. 31337records was founded in early 2007 by Stefan Klaas, Sebastian Koch and Subjunk. They used their years of experience in the club scene, both as artists and part of the crowd, and their passion for minimalistic music to create an outstanding new label in a short period of time. The result is an awesome mix of floor filling minimal techno and deep melodic tracks with a great selection of international artist. Be sure to check this one out, it is well worth your time!
