[1337-025] Undefault – Faking Jazz Together EP

Our next digital release is finally seeing the light of day. This time by Undefault, a newly discovered and very talented duo located in Moscow, Russia. These guys deliver top notch minimal techno with a systematic and club oriented design. Everything in their tracks works well together and is stripped down to a minimum. Dark themed tracks full of sneaky clicks and cuts emerging out of wrapped up field recordings and a variety of melodies dancing around trippy beats. Fragmented samples and layers of percussions haunted by creepy pads and occasional vocal cuts round up each track perfectly. All these carefully selected elements form a perfect symbiosis in a minimalistic, yet complex way. Always interesting and mind bending minimal straight for lovers of this genre. On top of that you get an awesome remix of ‘A2′ by Sebastian Koch, whose style fits perfectly to the work of Undefault! As usually, the full release will soon be available in your favorite download stores world wide.

[1337-011] Liiebermann – Distance EP

We just love Japan. The culture, the country everything seems so magical and this reflects in their music. German and Japanese frindship goes back a long way, so why not continue this tradition in the music industry. We know so many talented people from Japan and already signed a lot. So today we present one of our newest members in the 31337 family – Liiebermann! These guys simply rock. ‘Private Tools On The Deck’s’ Ko-ta and K. Hamawaki work together from Kushiro, Hokkaido and Tokyo.

They were also featured on ‘Multi Vitamins’ this year and on the Japanese label ‘Kodaira tracks’. Their music is really put together with lots of thought. Cool beats with funky spliced vocals and melodic bleeps or textures. Straight to the point minimal techno. The EP also includes a great remix of the track ‘Labo’ by Sebastian Koch!

[1337-008] Topper – Contrary Smile EP

After a little summer break 31337records is back with a smashing minimal techno release from Topper including remixes made by Sebastian Koch and 0x7f. ‘Topper grew up in turin surrounded by substances and tunes typical of a hippie-kind of environment. Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd were his milk. His dad, the ‘hippie’, had a huge influence on him, and introduced his curious kid into the magic of music and psychedelic culture.

That’s the reason why he felt like he was born for music! Rapidly he got in touch with more ‘minimal’ sounds and started djing. The big shift occurred during the summer of 2005: Right after taking his High-school diploma he moved to Berlin. It took some months to get into the scene, but by the end of 2005 he joined the ‘Klangsucht’ crew, playing at numerous underground parties, open-airs, afterhours and so on…’

After a very long delay, 31337 is happy to finally present you ‘Contrary Smile’! The EP starts of with two straight club tracks, the first being ‘Nilla Pizzis Suicide’ which is a dark themed techno track with a touch of glitch. The second track ‘Lucio Dallas Cowboys’ got a lot of drive and ends in psychedelic pads and textures. Then we have 2 awesome remixes of ‘Nilla Pizzis Suicide’ by the label management 0x7f and Sebastian Koch.

[1337-004] Sebastian Koch & Den – Friendship EP

Another awesome 31337 release is out now – this time we present Sebastian Koch and Den! The guys teamed up to bring you an excelent minimal techno EP, absolutely true to the game. Many tracks these days get labeld as minimal while they really don’t deserve the title. This EP is made with the attitude – less is more and its exactly what its like. The complexity of simplicity! No fancy leads or melodies, just funky techno music with subtle sounds and sampled field recordings put together with a lot of thought. Den prooved his talent on labels such as on Unfoundsound, Them, Multi Vitamins and Clever Music. This man knows what he is doing and his sound is always exciting. Sebastian puts a lot of thought behind his tracks to keep them minimalistic, yet very groovy. He has great talent aswell and those two guys put together was a really good choice. Included is also a nice bonus track by faerth with some magical textures, the perfect ending. We hope you enjoy this EP as much as we do!

[1337-001] Various Artists – We Are 31337!

Munich / Berlin, Germany, May 23, 2007: The young netlabel 31337records is releasing its first Various Artists compilation today featuring great artists such as ‘Someone Else’, ‘Katzo’, ‘Den’, ’0x7f’, ‘Sebastian Koch’ and many more. The compilation is split into two parts of which the first one is more club oriented – pounding and very subtle minimal techno – while the second part is perfect chill-out material. This collection of tunes is not your average netlabel release but a promising start for a young, fresh and exciting label. 31337records was founded in early 2007 by Stefan Klaas, Sebastian Koch and Subjunk. They used their years of experience in the club scene, both as artists and part of the crowd, and their passion for minimalistic music to create an outstanding new label in a short period of time. The result is an awesome mix of floor filling minimal techno and deep melodic tracks with a great selection of international artist. Be sure to check this one out, it is well worth your time!
