[1337-014] Haruyuki Yokoyama – Error EP

‘Haruyuki Yokoyama (producer / Architect) from Kanagawa, Japan was originally inspired by electronic music from the mid 90’s. His first musical experiences came from starting an electronic band with some talented friends, and in 1998, his solo electronic music productions began. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, he studied Architecture, but his passion for electronic music continued. In 2003, he returned to his native homeland of Japan to live in Tokyo, where he continues to create his own take on minimal techno.’ Today we present you his debut EP on our label. ‘Error’ is a very creatively assembled piece of art. Haruyuki presents his very own style of minimal for you to enjoy. Vocal cuts emerging out of freaky grooves carefully put together into a unique musical structure. Listen to these joyfully diassembled fragments of samples and enjoy beeing left in syntax error.

[1337-013] Eddie O. – House If You Want EP

‘Nothing’ is the sound of a brooding monster lurking around the corner. Will it eat your dog? Probably, cuz she’s covered in tabasco and this mexican has an appetite for perros! Tasty morsels of vintage industrial samples pepper the abstracted techno rhythm with a nice acidic drip overhead. Now, Miskate ain’t afraid of no monster. She’s devised a plan to lure the creature onto the floor and shake his ass off with a stomping rendition of ‘Nothing’. Hear that dog? Yeah, she’s having it too! Sometimes you feel like doing the opposite, like making minimal techno. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just that everyone else is whipping out the sausage and banging on the bongos in the same way. Go in reverse. Myspace can be a pretty hairy land to navigate. So is tom’s back. on this track, we explore the nether regions of the world’s most popular guy while he takes a picture of himself in the mirror. Aw Tom, so loveable…

[1337-012] SeQ – Unknown Pleasures EP

We are back baby and we’ve got our bag filled with new stuff for your ears. Today we present you a fresh face which we picked up in Spain. Our newest artist, Jacobo Hernandez, aka SeQ presents you his very first EP straight for the dancefloor called, ‘Unknown Pleasures’. Dark tunes with minimalistic arrangements, thoughtful structures and ass shaking guaranteed! There are 4 tracks on this EP, the first one being, ‘Gaza’. It feels like walking in a hostile environment. A track full of mysterious and interesting sounds. The next track, ‘Octubres’ starts right where ‘Gaza’ left off. It puts some more enthusiasm into the rythmic structures, effectively pushing the track to the next level. Can you feel the deep sub?! ‘Open Road’ is more repetitive, but has a nice mood and is great as a DJ tool for mixing. The last track, ‘Next Station’ is very simplistic and filled with lots of small filtered elements that round up the track and keep the beat rolling.

We are back with a new release from the 31337 management! Our 10th release and also our very first full album, this time from label manager Stefan aka ’0x7f”! The release includes 6 original tracks starting with ‘Black Market’, which is a nice club track with lots of percussions and interesting samples. The next track ‘It Goes On And On’ is a bit slower and accompanied with a beautifully crushed melody that keeps clubbers floating when the sun goes up.

Coming to ‘Worship The Machines’, which is the title track of this album. A long journey into the world of bits and bytes. Funky vocal cuts meet field recordings with a taste of clicks and various effects. A perfekt mix to get your ass shaking! The track ‘So What’ is very deep and has a dubby touch. Monotonic melody meets reverb.

Now the track ‘Genki Des’ is very spheric with some interesting and crackling textures. Just lay down and enjoy. The last track ‘Polar Bear’ is a perfekt outro track. It has a beautiful melancholic melodie surounded by clicks and delays. Really something to enjoy anytime.

The second remix by Alexis Cabrera & Guti is a hot techno track and made for the dancefloor. It includes jazzy influences with funky piano sounds. Great stuff from our two guys out of the heart of buenos aires. the last remix by Krlox is very dark and hypnotic. Repetitiv minimal techno with a deep sub line. Techno heads watch out!

[1337-008] Topper – Contrary Smile EP

After a little summer break 31337records is back with a smashing minimal techno release from Topper including remixes made by Sebastian Koch and 0x7f. ‘Topper grew up in turin surrounded by substances and tunes typical of a hippie-kind of environment. Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd were his milk. His dad, the ‘hippie’, had a huge influence on him, and introduced his curious kid into the magic of music and psychedelic culture.

That’s the reason why he felt like he was born for music! Rapidly he got in touch with more ‘minimal’ sounds and started djing. The big shift occurred during the summer of 2005: Right after taking his High-school diploma he moved to Berlin. It took some months to get into the scene, but by the end of 2005 he joined the ‘Klangsucht’ crew, playing at numerous underground parties, open-airs, afterhours and so on…’

After a very long delay, 31337 is happy to finally present you ‘Contrary Smile’! The EP starts of with two straight club tracks, the first being ‘Nilla Pizzis Suicide’ which is a dark themed techno track with a touch of glitch. The second track ‘Lucio Dallas Cowboys’ got a lot of drive and ends in psychedelic pads and textures. Then we have 2 awesome remixes of ‘Nilla Pizzis Suicide’ by the label management 0x7f and Sebastian Koch.
