[1337-024] Marteaux – Efluente EP

We are thrilled to present you our next release by Martin Briano aka Marteaux, another great artist emerging from the depths of Buenos Aires, Argentina. His latest work with the title ‘Efluente EP’ is a well selected piece of bouncy minimal techno as we love it. Complex arrangements with repetitive movements that true fans of this genre will definitely appreciate. Each track on this EP tells its own little story.

Playful minimal with nicely chopped up rhythms inside layers of trippy samples and interestingly designed sound structures. Funky beats surrounded with a variety of interesting melodies, occasional vocal cuts and of course deep basslines. The whole package is very well produced and totally fits our expectations of quality music, without compromises. You can get your own copy soon in all your favorite download stores worldwide.

[1337-023] 0x7f – As The World Burns We Watch TV.. EP

The year starts off with a new release straight from the 31337 management! Label head Stefan Klaas aka 0x7f presents his EP ‘As The World Burns We Watch TV’, a classy selection of tracks filled with ambience and mixed with a bit of tech-house and dub. 0x7f doesn’t follow any standards or trends and has a distinct feel for deep melodic tunes with lots of clicks and field recordings wrapped into complex minimalistic sound structures.

While the title shows a critical view on parts of todays society, the EP doesn’t reflect negative thoughts and simply invites the listener to let the mind wander and thoughts flow. Along the 3 original tracks there are 3 fabulous remixes by Akiko Kiyama, Ditch and Sil from the Easy Changes duo. Akiko delivers a wonderfully unique remix of

‘Surface’ that brings in some fresh elements and turns the track around into a new and interestingly mysterious direction. A well structured flow with lots of true minimalism, carefully chosen patterns and straight to the point. Ditch presents a very creative, dark interpretation of ‘Virtualized’, filled with samples that leave some kind of industrial impression. A pounding beat that slowly comes out of the shadows, surrounded by a field of percussions and well selected cuts. Sil pushed the boundaries and made a remix aimed at the dancefloor. Well arranged and cut up percussions emerging between twisted samples and melodic bits and pieces that turn the original track upside down and inside out. Of course with the typical Easy Changes style.

[1337-020] DoubtingThomas – Technocolor Tangle LP

Here we are back again with a stunning album called ‘Technocolor Tangle’ by DoubtingThomas. Each track is creatively forming itself around four to the floor beats and every element you need or could possibly hope for in this genre. If it’s deep bass lines, distinct melodies, abstract textures or rhythmic percussions. You can instantly hear that it’s made with professionalism, fun and love for the little details.

A great combination that totally fits our ideals of handmade minimal techno – sometimes raw, abstract, funky or dynamic and without factory presets. Once again music for the soul and the dancefloor alike. This is truely an outstanding piece of work and we are happy to share it with you now after months of hiding it on our harddisks.

[1337-019] Kai – At The End Of The Day EP

31337records is back once again with a killer release by our Japanese friend Kaitaro Nakajima aka Kai. From bouncy minimal to shaking house, whatever he does, it just sounds right. Quality productions with a touch of style that simply amazes the interested listener. You will surely enjoy the well choosen field recordings, rhythmic percussions on top of repetitiv melodic elements and lovely static noises.

He cleverly adds vocal cuts and breaks just where they belong to give the tracks their final touch. Minimal and Tech-house mashed up with an experimental edge. Kai is no stranger in the scene and has previously released on labels such as Alphahouse, Revolver and Süd Electronic. To round it all up, Pheek did a great job as usually with the mastering.

[1337-015] Den – Back To There EP

We are happy to announce our newest album from Den, one of Japans most talanted artists. He delivers you 8 wonderful tracks ranging from minimal to tech-house. Den takes you on a wild ride, a journey back to there. On the way you will be accompanied by deep sub lines, wonderful melodies, funky rolling percussions, lovely vocal cuts and interesting samples. Den was born in Tokyo and brought up in Tokyo, but he was living in several cities around the globe such as St. Pauli or London and is currently living in Berlin. He started his music career as a freelance cm/cf music creator and has released on labels like ‘Multi Vitamins’, ‘Clever Music’, ‘Op.disc’ and of course 31337records. [1337-014] Haruyuki Yokoyama – Error EP

‘Haruyuki Yokoyama (producer / Architect) from Kanagawa, Japan was originally inspired by electronic music from the mid 90’s. His first musical experiences came from starting an electronic band with some talented friends, and in 1998, his solo electronic music productions began. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, he studied Architecture, but his passion for electronic music continued. In 2003, he returned to his native homeland of Japan to live in Tokyo, where he continues to create his own take on minimal techno.’ Today we present you his debut EP on our label. ‘Error’ is a very creatively assembled piece of art. Haruyuki presents his very own style of minimal for you to enjoy. Vocal cuts emerging out of freaky grooves carefully put together into a unique musical structure. Listen to these joyfully diassembled fragments of samples and enjoy beeing left in syntax error.

[1337-013] Eddie O. – House If You Want EP

‘Nothing’ is the sound of a brooding monster lurking around the corner. Will it eat your dog? Probably, cuz she’s covered in tabasco and this mexican has an appetite for perros! Tasty morsels of vintage industrial samples pepper the abstracted techno rhythm with a nice acidic drip overhead. Now, Miskate ain’t afraid of no monster. She’s devised a plan to lure the creature onto the floor and shake his ass off with a stomping rendition of ‘Nothing’. Hear that dog? Yeah, she’s having it too! Sometimes you feel like doing the opposite, like making minimal techno. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just that everyone else is whipping out the sausage and banging on the bongos in the same way. Go in reverse. Myspace can be a pretty hairy land to navigate. So is tom’s back. on this track, we explore the nether regions of the world’s most popular guy while he takes a picture of himself in the mirror. Aw Tom, so loveable…

[1337-012] SeQ – Unknown Pleasures EP

We are back baby and we’ve got our bag filled with new stuff for your ears. Today we present you a fresh face which we picked up in Spain. Our newest artist, Jacobo Hernandez, aka SeQ presents you his very first EP straight for the dancefloor called, ‘Unknown Pleasures’. Dark tunes with minimalistic arrangements, thoughtful structures and ass shaking guaranteed! There are 4 tracks on this EP, the first one being, ‘Gaza’. It feels like walking in a hostile environment. A track full of mysterious and interesting sounds. The next track, ‘Octubres’ starts right where ‘Gaza’ left off. It puts some more enthusiasm into the rythmic structures, effectively pushing the track to the next level. Can you feel the deep sub?! ‘Open Road’ is more repetitive, but has a nice mood and is great as a DJ tool for mixing. The last track, ‘Next Station’ is very simplistic and filled with lots of small filtered elements that round up the track and keep the beat rolling.
